COMMUNICABLE DISEASE NOTICE:
Strep throat has been detected and is contagious (“catching, infectious”)
A visit to a health professional will be necessary before the student may return to school.
Contagious Period: Untreated, 10-21 days. Treated with antibiotics, up to 48 hours after first dose.
Symptoms: Typically, sudden onset of red sore throat, fever, listlessness, swollen glands, nausea, and headache. Tongue may be coated white and then become bright red.
SCHOOL ATTENDANCE: Exclude for at least 24 hours after the first dose of antibiotics and the individual is fever-free.
Please check your child/children and notify the school if he or she present any sings or symptoms/ a visit to a health professional may be necessary before he/she may return to school. If symptoms appear while in school, the child will be excluded from the group setting and you will be called to pick him/her up.
